Equine Assisted Therapy

Horses help us to learn about ourselves and to overcome our fears and limitations

Like humans, horses are sentient beings, each with their own individual ‘language’ and preferred ways of communicating.

Unlike humans, however, horses are fully present in the moment, and deeply conscious of the energy of those around them. This awareness has been developed over centuries, as a way of the horse staying safe from threats both from outside and within its herd.

Observing how a horse responds to us - with confidence or fear, directly or indirectly, moving towards or away from us - can help us to become more aware of our own emotions and reactions.

This in turn gives us insight into our own patterns of behaviour and the ways in which our energy, communication style and physical presence can impact our relationships with others as well as ourselves.

At Equine and Human Connections we create a safe space for people to explore and reflect at their own pace as they connect with the horses - emotionally, mentally, and physically, according to their needs.

This all takes place under the gentle guidance of Jacqui, a qualified allied health professional and experienced horsewoman.
